Sky Meadow is a small, independent retreat center and organic homestead offering an exceptionally quiet and private setting for personal growth and wellness retreats. We are not affiliated with any organization or religion and welcome anyone who yearns for clarity, meaning, and a sense of connection with other people and the world of nature. We provide space and support for people who intend to cultivate self- awareness, foster personal and planetary healing, build community, and do deep inner work.
Our main building is a beautifully renovated century-old dairy barn that sleeps sixteen people on two floors. A large open Main Hall surrounded by windows is adjacent to the Dining Area, and Gathering Space with comfortable seating. Off the main room are three shared dorm rooms, each including four large built-in beds with privacy curtains and personal reading lights. Each room on this floor opens onto a large covered porch with rocking chairs and tables, overlooking the sheep pasture, apple orchard, gardens, and ponds.
Just down the hall are two shared full baths, the Kitchen, and our Buffet Area including water cooler and tea counter. On the lower floor, near the pond, garden, and sheep pen, are two more dorm rooms, with two beds each and a shared full bath. In front of the Retreat Barn, next to the flower and vegetable gardens, are picnic tables on the lawn, set for outdoor dining or reflection. Guests can look out on the gardens and observe the interaction between residents and the garden spaces, often seeing the harvest that is underway for the day’s meals.
The large Hall, Dining and Gathering Areas can be arranged in any way that suits your needs. We have folding chairs, cushions, blankets, blocks, and back-jacks, as well as a piano, drums, chimes, other percussion instruments, and a stereo system. There are many lighting options with dimmers and three different sources of heat, including a central wood stove. Many windows and doors can be opened on both the south and north sides of the building to bring in cool air on hot days. The retreat barn is animal free and the kitchen is meat free.
In addition we have some options for more private single or double accommodations. We offer two single rooms in the Orchard House, a private cabin a two-minute walk from the main retreat building. The cabin features electricity, automatic heat, wifi, adjacent parking, a quiet porch overlooking the orchard and pasture, and a composting toilet in the adjacent building. Each room has south facing windows, a sleeping loft, desk, chair, dresser, and a separate door opening onto a common hallway with two outside entrances.
