Sky Meadow Retreat.
...remember what peace there may be in silence

Hidden in the hills of Vermont’s Northeast Kingdom

Information For Guests Coming to Sky Meadow Retreat

Sky Meadow Retreat is located on a 150 year old homestead at the end of the road in the town of  Stannard, in Vermont’s Northeast Kingdom. The 120 acres of land includes open fields, forests withtrails, ponds for swimming, and a hilltop with magnificent views of the Green Mountains.

The retreat center is in a newly renovated century old barn and includes a large open hardwood floor surrounded by windows, a dining area, couch area, and woodstove. Off this main room are three shared dorm rooms, each with four large beds, two full shared baths, and a fully equipped kitchen, including eating dishes and utensils.  On the lower floor, near the pond, garden, and sheep pen, are two more dorm rooms, with three beds each, and a shared full bath. For group retreats we do not provide single rooms or make room reservations ahead of time.

We provide comfortable mattresses, blankets and pillows.  Bring your own bed linens (double beds) or sleeping bag, pillow case, and towel.   We cannot accommodate children or pets.  We have no laundry facility and cannot receive mail or e-mail for you here.  Our neighbors are very sensitive to traffic on our road so we ask that you not arrive or use the road after 10:00 pm, or before 7:00 am, and you sleep here. Please carpool whenever possible to reduce traffic on our road.  The retreat center maintains quiet hours indoors and out from 10:00 pm to 7:00 am, and we do not allow alcohol, meat, or fish to be brought here.

The barn preparation team needs to have the barn to ourselves until the designated time for arrival of your retreat.  We ask that no one come into the main building for any reason before 4:00 on the day your retreat begins unless your leader has negotiated an earlier arrival directly with us.  If you are not sure of your designated arrival time please check with your leader.  We  ask that you respect our need for preparation space and not drop things off  before your official arrival time.

Our kitchen serves vegetarian food using local and organic when possible, with non-dairy options available each meal. If you have a restricted diet please contact us ahead of your retreat and we will do our best to accommodate your needs. You can bring your own precooked food if you are concerned about having enough to eat. We have no cooking facilities available to you. We do not serve coffee, but do have coffee makers if you want to bring your own.
