Information For Guests
Coming
to Sky Meadow
Sky
Meadow is located on a 150 year old homestead at the end of the
road in the town of Stannard, in Vermont’s Northeast Kingdom. The
120 acres of land includes open fields,
forests with trails, ponds for swimming, and a hilltop with
magnificent views of the Green Mountains.
The retreat center is in a newly renovated century
old barn
and includes a large open hardwood floor surrounded by windows, a
dining area, couch area, and woodstove. Off this main room are three
shared dorm rooms, each with four large beds, two full shared
baths, and a fully equipped kitchen, including eating dishes
and utensils. On the lower floor, near the pond, garden,
and sheep pen, are two more dorm rooms, with three beds each,
and a shared full bath. We
do not provide single rooms or make room reservations ahead of time.
(you are welcome to bring a tent for private sleeping quarters.)
We provide comfortable mattresses, blankets and
pillows. Bring your own bed linens (double beds)
or sleeping bag, pillow case,
and towel. We cannot
accommodate children or pets. We have no laundry facility and
cannot receive mail or e-mail for you here. Our neighbors
are
very
sensitive to traffic on our road so we ask that you not arrive or use
the road after 10:00 pm, or before 6:00 am, and you sleep
here. Please carpool whenever possible to reduce traffic on
our road.
The barn preparation
team
needs to have the barn to ourselves until the designated time for
arrival of
your retreat. We ask that no one come
into the main building for any reason before 4:00 on the day your
retreat
begins unless your leader has negotiated an earlier arrival directly
with us. If you are not sure of your
designated
arrival time please check with your leader. We ask that you
respect our need for preparation space and not drop things off before
your offical arrival time.
If you need a
restricted diet please bring your own precooked food. We are not
equipped to cater to special needs, and have no cooking facilities
available to you.
We do not serve coffee, but do have coffee makers
if you want to bring your own.
